Reflections

In a moment - it all falls apart
In a moment - from lightness to dark.
In a moment - new beginnings become ends
In a moment - dreams no longer our friends.

Yet will I praise Your name
Yet of Your faithfulness will I sing.
Until I am gone, keep pressing in.
Until I surrender, You let me still swim.

Your mercy astounds me,
Your grace is all around.
That you would lift up my head,
When others wish I would drown.

You are my true husband,
My welfare you keep.
My provider, my lover,
The one inside of me.

I long to feel the connection of oneness,
The ecstacy of lovers.
But in this world it's so separate,
In nothing I trust.

To feel you inside of me,
Our hands intertwined,
Not side by side,
But absorbed into one.

You catch every tear,
My breath reaching your ear.
The knotting inside me,
My cries you do hear.

Darkness all around,
And I hear not a sound.
The silence is deafening,
The solitude so suffocating.

But as the waves of the sea,
It tosses all around me
And yet not a hair can it touch
Empty threats it's only power.

Here I stand, yet not I but thee.
For without you, am not I.
Your promise sustains me,
Your word, my life breathes.

I shall not be afraid,
Only stay close, my dear.
Your word in my ear,
Ever present lest I fear.
